Hi guys,
I went to the post office in Sunway Pyramid to renew my driver;s license and thought I might as well ask about registering as a voter. Since I wasn’t officially 21 yet at that time I couldn’t register anyway, but the point was that they didn’t have the registration forms available there. They said they had run out.
So I went back the second time after my birthday, but they still didn’t have forms available.
This happened in a span of two and a half months, so let’s hope that they really “ran out” of forms instead of just failing to replenish them
I went to the post office in Ampang Point at the end of May….at first, I was told by an older Malay lady the system was possibly down and if not, it could take a very long time to register. I asked to try anyway and a very nice young Malay chap assisted me and we got it done in less than 5 minutes…easy peasy.
However, i’ve been to the electoral roll website (http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftarj/daftarbi.aspx) and my record was not found….
is there a lag between registration and actual appearance of my record?
It takes at least 3-6 months to be in the electoral roll. Keep this page going guys !! WOOT WOOT

+1
When I registered myself at the post office years ago (I think it was 2002 when registration first became possible via the post office), it was quite a breeze as it took about 5 minutes.
The gentleman who helped me was not sure of the system hence there were some fumbling about. But, it was a relatively easy process as long as we have our MyKad.
There is no need for forms as it is supposed to be computerised. We will get a form to confirm our regisration (please check your details as mine was wrong the first time!).
Please check your names after registration as it takes around 3-6 months for the electoral register to be updated.
Don’t waste our vote which is our right!
